HER STORY
Autumn Solesbee is a young American golfer whose inspiring journey from foster care to championship success has captivated many. Born in the United States, Autumn spent her early years in the foster care system. In October 2019, she met Donnie and Jamie Solesbee, who would soon become her adoptive parents. By April 21, 2020, the adoption was finalized, and Autumn officially became part of the Solesbee family.
Autumn’s introduction to golf was serendipitous. In December 2019, during a visit to a Topgolf facility to meet her new grandfather, she picked up a golf club for the first time. The experience ignited a passion within her, leading to a deep commitment to the sport.
Her dedication quickly translated into remarkable achievements. In 2021, Autumn participated in the Drive, Chip and Putt competition, a youth golf development initiative founded by The Masters Tournament, the PGA of America, and the USGA. She excelled through local and regional qualifiers, culminating in her winning the Girls 7-9 age division at the national finals held at Augusta National Golf Club in April 2022.
Beyond her personal accomplishments, Autumn’s story has resonated widely, symbolizing resilience and the transformative power of love and support. Her journey has been featured in various media outlets, highlighting not only her athletic prowess but also the profound impact of adoption and familial bonds.
As she continues to grow both on and off the course, Autumn remains a beacon of inspiration, embodying the spirit of perseverance and the boundless possibilities that arise when passion meets opportunity.
